Notification of illegal conduct - protection of whistleblowers - "whistleblowing"

In 2019, Directive (EU) 2019/1937 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 October 2019 on the protection of persons who report violations of Union law was adopted at the level of the European Union. According to this directive, effective and comprehensive protection of whistleblowers (whistleblowers), i.e. persons who report illegal actions in connection with work, is an essential element of the fight against corruption and part of a functioning rule of law.

A notification is a notification by a natural person containing information about a possible illegal act that has the characteristics of a criminal offense or a misdemeanor or violates a legal regulation or a regulation of the European Union governing the areas listed below, the commission of which the notifier learned about in connection with work or another similar activity.

Misuse of notification, notification of knowingly false, inaccurate or misleading information, or notification, the aim of which is to harm another, may establish the responsibility of the notifier for the damage caused. No protection is provided by such notification.

HOBES, spol. s r.o. in this way, it responds to the legislation on the protection of whistleblowers, as contained in particular in Directive (EU) 2019/1937 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 October 2019 on the protection of persons who report violations of Union law, with the aim of supporting the commitment of individuals aimed at protecting public interest so that he does not have to fear retaliation from a person acting in violation of the law or any third party due to his initiative.
